If you have a questions about placing coverage for clothing companies contact D.J. Colby Co., Inc.
Ripped jeans for over $300? Waiting lists for the latest celebrity sneakers? Are fanny packs really back? Think what you will of fashion -- as silly as certain trends and styles may seem to an old insurance guy—the fashion industry’s ability to adapt, utilize multiple channels of distribution and to operate on a global scale is impressive. Your ability to place broad coverage for clients producing clothing and accessories should be impressive too.
At D.J. Colby Co., Inc., we want to make placing your clients who are in the business of making and distributing clothing and accessories as easy as possible. We have multiple markets that can offer a variety of coverage including: ocean marine, warehouse, domestic transit, foreign, liability, cyber, crime, director & officers to bop coverage. We can help, whether it is a corner store, multinational manufacturer or a client who exclusively sells online through platforms like Amazon. We’ve got you covered.
Package & BOP
The capabilities of our small commercial carriers has overtime expanded. It is sometimes surprising that carriers that once could once only consider corner store type risks can now offer terms to multi-million dollar operations. A BOP may be an excellent fit, even for fairly large clothing manufacturers/importers. For larger businesses, we can offer terms through our middle and large commercial divisions. Either way, all we need to get started are completed accords.
Ocean Cargo (more info)
For your clients manufacturing or importing apparel from overseas, we can provide warehouse to warehouse coverage that can be more tailored than coverage given through freight forwarders and with better protection than coverage offered by the manufacturer. Your clients may think they have coverage, but you may be able to fill important coverage gaps and give them coverage designed with their best interest in mind. Don’t forget you can add warehouse, domestic transit, unnamed warehouse, and salesman sample coverage. You can also choose the valuation best suited for your client’s product/commodity – CIF +10, +20, +30 or Sales Price.
Foreign Liability (application)
Does your client attend fashion related conventions/trade shows as part of their business? Do they send employees to assess the quality manufacturing or raw materials. Do they export? If so, they would benefit from foreign liability coverage. Please see click below for more info.
Cyber (more info)
More and more apparel businesses are selling online. This includes businesses that previously sold only wholesale, brick and mortar stores that have added online sales and business that sell goods exclusively online. Cyber Coverage can beneficial for businesses that don’t transact online sales, but for those that do, Cyber Insurance should definitely not be overlooked.
